Artistic language as a counter to discrimination in the LGBTQIA+ community is a project promoted by Le Tre Ghinee APS e Fluida APS.
Art is love made public is funded by the project The CARE - Civil Actors for Rights and Empowerment, co-financed by the European Union and promoted by Fondazione Realizza il Cambiamento and ActionAid International Italia E.T.S. aims at promoting, protecting and enforcing the Rights and Values of the European Union with an approach based on the participation of rights holders and the empowerment of them in claiming their rights. The project involves 70 active realities throughout Italy, thus creating a network of change capable of listening and responding to the specific and concrete needs of each territory and community.

- Quartiere San Lorenzo, Municipio II, Roma.
DURATION OF THE PROJECT:
- 12 mesi
PROJECT OBJECTIVES:
- Promote the protection of human rights with regard to LGBTQIA+ issues.
- Strengthen the skills of young people, especially those living in socially vulnerable situations, on the knowledge of LGBTQIA+ rights, through artistic language.
- Raising awareness among the target community on deconstructing the stereotypes on which different forms of gender discrimination are rooted.
PROJECT ACTIVITIES:
- TRAINING: Training course aimed at young queer people at risk of social marginalisation, on LGBTQIA+ issues at both European and national level, and how these can be represented and narrated by the artistic medium.
- WORKSHOPS: The training will then be followed by a workshop course that, depending on the aptitude and needs of* participants, will investigate different visual arts (photography; visual design; reuse materials; exhibition curating), in order to offer each participant the opportunity to express his or her own identity or instance through the artistic medium.
- EXHIBITION ORGANISATION: The workshop path will lead to the realisation of an exhibition in the San Lorenzo district and the production of a co-designed digital catalogue.
The exhibition will be staged during the ’SanLorenzo Pride”an important and historic annual event held in the district.
