FREEDOM (Fake news Recognition and Education for Elderly Digital Outreach Mission)is a project co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme that aims to create a safer digital future for the elderly, thanks to adigital education and recognising and combating fake news.

The FREEDOM project is committed to empowering older people by strengthening their digital skills and helping them to safely navigate the complex landscape of online information. Together, we can fight fake news and create a more informed digital world for all.

Activities will include:

  • practical workshops
  • a multilingual online platform
  • video tutorial
  • e-book to help users safely navigate the information landscape.

FREEDOM is committed to fighting fake news and promoting a more informed digital world.

Activities

A series of activities will be carried out within the project in synergy among partners.

The main results of these activities will be:

  • Local activities and practical workshops on surfing the Internet, the importance of fact-checking and the resources put in place by the European Union to make it easier to recognise fake news.
  • A multilingual online platform with integrated video tutorials and resources to combat fake news.
  • Easy-to-follow video tutorials to help users recognise false information and verify facts - accessible both on the platform and from mobile devices.
  • A handbook, available as an e-book, with tips on how to choose reliable news sites, distinguish between real and fake news, and identify fake information.
